09 MHM JERSEY
This project is a result of a residential on Jersey Island, with the three artists, an invitation of the Jersey Museum. Its objective was to recalculate the presence of the Portuguese community, the majority from Madeira that make-up 10% of the 100 000 total population
.The M.H.M Jersey was created as a reaction to the living conditions that the emigrating communities are subjected to, living in small areas, abiding by rigid rules, shared bathrooms, compartmentalized houses adapted to living units.The proposal consisted of optimizing the areas, creating a 16m2 (4mx 4m) minimal or minimal housing module including sanitary installations, kitchen and storing area. Whenever necessary the resident may cease the utilization of equipment by incorporating them on the walls shelves, leaving the area totally free in order to create space.
